In the late game at Shawe on Wednesday May 28th, the Twister baseball team’s offense never got clicking, as OA fell to South Decatur by a score of 5-0.

Despite a regular season victory over the Cougars scoring 12 runs, OA was never able to get the bats rolling. After a struggle through 5 innings, sophomore Aaron Huber was able to put solid contact on a ball to second base, and the fielder wasn’t able to get a handle on it. Nick Bischoff following with a hard shot to short, as the Twisters would mount their only offensive threat. With 2 on and 2 out, junior Matty Hurm hit a high chopper to third. The Cougar third baseman was able to glove it and record the third out, stifling the rally.

Junior Tyler Hogg worked out of trouble all night, recording 10 outs via the Strikeout in just 5 innings pitched. In both the first and second innings Hogg got K’s to end the inning with Cougar runners on.

In the 3rd, South Decatur finally broke through for 3 runs. With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Hogg appeared to have gotten out of a bases loaded jam via the strikeout, but the umpire ruled that the ball had glanced off the batters forearm, bringing in the first run of the game. 2 more runs would score in the inning. The Cougars added 2 more runs in the 6th.

With only 2 seniors, the Twisters look to be a threat again in the 2015 baseball season.
