The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced the recipients of its 2015-2016 AVCA Team Academic Awards. Oldenburg Academy was named a recipient for the 2nd straight year and 3rd time in the past 4 years. Oldenburg was one of only 260 high school programs nationwide to receive the award. The team cumulative GPA for the 2015-2016 academic year was 3.81 on a 4.00 scale. The team consisted of seniors Maggie Bruns – Brookville, Danielle Koger – Versailles, Audrey Oesterling – Batesville, Ashley Sedler – Aurora, juniors MacKenzie Corbin – Sunman, Elizabeth Fiutem – Harrison, Harley Kidd – Brookville, Dresden Lonergan – Brookville, Hannah Moul – W. Harrison, Samantha Nobbe – Greensburg, and sophomore Julia Rees – Sunman.
The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that display excellence in the classroom. “I could not be more proud of this team.
