The Indian Creek boys’ basketball team rolled into Oldenburg riding the momentum from two blow-out victories. However, this was the Twisters’ home opener and all who enter must face the loud and excitable OA crowd. The hosts did not disappoint their followers as the sell-out crowd was treated to a high basketball classic.
Oldenburg battled early foul trouble. Ben Kinker picked up two fouls in the first four minutes of play. Coach Moorman chose to sit the 6’7 Army recruit for the rest of the half. As usual, the Twisters played tenacious team defense holding the high scoring Braves to 24 first half points. The game ebbed back and forth throughout the second half. Greg Schroeder hit a huge three to point OA ahead to stay halfway through the final stanza.
Scoring for the 3-0 Twisters were: Ben Kinker 26, Mike Wandstrat 16, Nick Moorman 6, Greg Schroeder 5, Nate Folop 4, and Chase Hogg 3. Folop and Wandstrat dominated the glass snatching 9 and 6 rebounds respectively.
