The OA boys soccer team advanced to the Sectional 44 Championship game by defeating Hauser 2-0. OA recorded their 4th shutout in a row. “It has been a few years since we made the finals and it feels good to be back.” Coach Getz Said.
Race Carle got things started early by scoring in period 1 at the 38:30 mark assisted by Sam McFee on a pass into the 18 and a quick shot by Race. Blake Borgman scored in period 1 at 32:41 on a great shot from the left side of the 18.

Hauser had 4 shots with 1 on goal, 1 off-sides, 7 fouls, 1 corner, and their keeper had 5 saves.
“We came out with a lot of energy put pressure on their defense and found the back of the net 2 times in the first 8 minutes of the game. The unfortunate park of this was that was all we scored. The flip side was that is all we needed as Chris Hautman only had one save as the defense led by Joe Suttmann, Jacob Cornelius, Josh Newman and Jake Negovetich kept the slate clean.” Coach Getz added. The Twisters were able to get everyone into the game. Coach Getz was even able to pull Hautman out of the goal for a quick cameo 3 minute striker at the end appearance.
The Twisters will play the host team, Southwestern Shelbyville, on Saturday, October 10th at 7:00 PM. The #11 ranked Spartans advanced by beating #18 Greenwood Christian Academy 5-1.
