OA closed out its regular season with a tie 0-0 at Richmond to finish at 8-6-2.

“I heard Blake (Borgman) and Sam (McFee) talking as they were coming off the pitch at the end of the game. They said we should of played the entire game like we played the last 15 minutes. I echo that statement.” Coach Getz said. The Twisters as a team were sluggish until about midway in the second half. Something started to tick and we played the way we are capable of playing. The Twisters just need to find that gear for 80 minutes. The Twisters had ample opportunities to score in the last 20 minutes.

“Defensively we were good enough to get another shutout. We have to find some offense and I believe we have the right personal we just have to execute.” Coach Getz added.

The Twisters had 10 shots with 6 on goal, 4 off-sides, 7 fouls, 1 corner, 1 yellow card for Stephen Hoff, 2 hand balls and Chris Hautman had 2 saves.

Richmond had 8 shots with 2 on goal, 11 off-sides, 5 fouls, 2 hand balls and their keeper had 6 saves.

The Twisters return to the pitch on Monday, October 5th for the first round of the IHSAA State Soccer tournament. They will play Morristown at Southwestern Shelbyville with a start time of 5:30.
